So glad I'm not the only one to have the same reaction to those Facebook data-mining things (because that's what they are). I was born in 1953. My parents went frantic when I 'lost' my three-years younger sister on the walk to the park - and elicited the 'help' of a complete stranger. All was well, she was found making her way home, but there were just as many child abductors, rapists and murderers around in the 50s and 60s as there are today (we just weren't as aware of the fact).

One of my friends got killed by a car while playing in the streets - in 1958.

And I taped old TV shows onto reel-to-reel tape (which, unlike cassettes, didn't break and spew tape everywhere), and filmed friends with a hand-wound cine-camera that never ran out of batteries - because it didn't use them - so much for technology improvements.
