*tap tap* Is This Thing On?

Ahem. If I could have everyone's attention for a moment... I have an announcement to make.

At long (long, long) last, I am ready to make a solid attempt at getting back into fandom and writing and all those good things.

The question is: Who's still hanging around these parts? Or who wants to dive back in with me?

• How about making a commitment (call it a New Year's resolution if you like...) to post to LJ/IJ/DW and keep up with your f-list at least once or twice a week?

• How about creating a sort of "reunion" or "revival" comm where we can interact and keep each other up to date on what we're doing? At minimum, there could be a weekly "what everyone has done in the last seven days" check-in post.

• How about starting up a regular fannish chat? Just a general place to be free and geeky (and probably pervy) in tandem.

• How about starting up a writers'/creators' chat? Fanfic, original fiction, essays... anything goes. A place for creators to encourage/share/complain/commiserate. We could get back to the old, old days of word wars in order to get shit done. (Guys, I really, REALLY need this, given the amount of rust my writing bone has accumulated!)

None of this needs to be strictly HP fandom specific. I know a lot of folks have moved on to other fandoms and/or are multi-fannish and/or are writing original fiction these days. All of that is totally fine and welcome. It's just about being fans/creators together.

I am so desperate for intelligent, entertaining conversation with other geeky, fannish people; you have NO idea. I miss the hell out of y'all and I NEEEEED YOUUU!!

Thoughts?? Who's in??

Hi there! Welcome back. Becoming a member of some snarry discords brought me out of lurking. I'm here posting fic and art. (Snarry mostly.) I should probably try treating my journal as a journal a proxy for ao3, deviantart fanworks.

Discord is... a dilemma. It definitely generates enough chatter and builds the sense of community, but also there's all this content (meta, discussions, recs) that doesn't end up archived anywhere on the web for the lurkers to read. Also not a fan-run space, though permissive. It does make it easy to rec and share art and music and set up various 'servers' for discussion.
