The trip from Philly to [personal profile] twilightsorcery's place in NY was easy and uneventful -- but cold! We would have a huge temperature drop just for the one day that I have to go out in the city in reasonably nice clothes at night. My nose has been running nearly non-stop for thirteen hours and it still hasn't stopped. Ugh.

The other downer of the day was that [personal profile] ragdoll wasn't able to go out with us after all. Boo. (You were missed, [personal profile] ragdoll, and I think you should probably avoid reading the squee down below so you don't kick yourself for not coming. You will still be at dinner tomorrow night, right??)

[personal profile] twilightsorcery called a friend who took the extra ticket at the last minute, so I suppose I at least got an impromptu "date" for the evening. Ha. As if I was paying attention to much of anything once the show started!

Okay, so. The mature, intelligent adult in me desperately wants to tell you about the nifty set design, and the concept for the production itself, and what a phenomenal and diverse actor Geoffrey Rush is. But. BUT. The fangirl in me is clearly the louder, more enthusiastic part, because I still haven't made it beyond the point of flailing wildly and shouting, "Geoffrey Rush! Geoffrey Ruuuuuuuuuuuuuush!!!"

GEOFFREY RUSH! 85% NAKED AND FIVE FEET FROM ME!!! Also, might I just say, that man has the most GLORIOUS schnoz. Seriously, photos do NOT do it justice. And his HANDS... ! Everything fanon says about Snape's hands. TIMES TEN. ::dies dies dies dies::

..I am so ashamed of myself. ::facepalm::

Then, just to top off the evening, I got out of the show and learned that I'd won the H/D LDWS! Wow! I have more to say about that, but it'll have to happen later. For now, it's time to pass out and dream of men with large noses.

As I briefly mentioned in my last post, I won the H/D LDWS! Lemme tell you, when I signed up, I have no idea this would happen. I saw the list of amazing writers who were involved, and my personal goal was just to survive the first half. Well, I was pretty thrilled then I did that. Of course, I still thought I'd be kicked off the island within the next week or two. So when I suddenly found myself still alive after the sixth week... Well, what else was there to do at that point but take it all? ;)

I won weeks 4, 6, and 7 as well... )

And here are the drabbles I wrote for the shindig, complete with their prompts. The ones from week 4 and week 7 are not too bad. ;)

So, that aforementioned incessantly drippy nose I mentioned in yesterday's post? Yeah, it turns out that decided it wanted to be a full-blown cold. No pun intended. So I petty much didn't sleep last night due to being icky and leaky. I did spend all afternoon sleeping it off, though, so I felt pretty good by evening. It's a very mild cold, actually. More annoying than anything. I mostly feel bad about inadvertently bringing my germs to everyone. :/

Anyway... Our dinner plans ended up a bit b0rked when two fifths of our party were forced to cancel. [personal profile] twilightsorcery, [personal profile] its_art, and I made some quick readjustments and ended up going to St. Andrews for dinner. It's all a little fuzzy now due to the OMG-fantastic cider on tap, but I distinctly recall far more musslels than I could manage and the best sticky toffee pudding ever. Even better, we got to see [personal profile] its_art for the first time in many months, so that was a boatload of yay.

Lunch plans are still a go for tomorrow; I'm excited liek whoa! I bought cold medicine (and the obligatory Dr. Pepper!!) on the way back to [personal profile] twilightsorcery's place, so maybe I'll even be able to sleep tonight. ;P

ETA: Why is there no "mood" listed for "full of cider and mussels"?
