(For the record, I did Day 4. It just didn't need to be posted about here.)

Day 5:

In your own space, promote three communities, challenges, blogs, pages, Twitters, Tumblrs or platforms and explain why you love them.

This is actually ridiculously difficult for me since I've been out of things for so long. I could go on for hours about all the comms and fests and such that I used to love, but nearly all of them went dormant ages ago. So it looks like I'm going to default to raving about

daily_deviant again.

I love this comm from the very depths of my filthy, fannish heart. It's the one thing I never let go of, even when I could barely keep a toe dipped into the fandom pool. I'm just so damned proud of the fantastic, inspired pieces our authors and artists manage to produce based on nothing more than a list of kinks or a simple theme from month to month. The best of the best are writing smut, and they're doing it with style, y'all!

On a personal level, I've been able to meet and interact with an astounding number of amazing, brilliant people over the years because of d_d. In person as well as online! Some of my favorite fandom memories are the erotic fic reading events we put together, particularly the one at Diacon Alley... and we had some pretty epic meet-ups at a few cons, too. (Pass the gummy boobies, and is anyone up for a game of cock ring toss??)

We're about to celebrate our thirteenth birthday, and WE'RE STILL GOING! We just got ELEVEN new members on board, and at least two or three long-time members who haven't posted much in a while are planning to make a comeback. So if you haven't been paying much attention to d_d lately, it's a good time to start again!

Daily Deviant, of course, is on InsaneJournal, which will be my second promotion here. Not too much seems to happen on IJ these days; most people ended up going to DW or sticking with LJ in the end. Nonetheless, IJ is still where I feel most at home. If anyone doesn't have an IJ and would like to start one (in order to keep up with d_d, especially!), let me know. I have some invite codes to spare, and can create additional ones each month.
