r_grayjoyI figured it was about time to pop up with another "I'm still out here" post. For anyone who hasn't forgotten who the hell I am by now. ::snort::
Work has continued to eat my life and my energy for the most part. Every time I intend to cut back, something happens to prevent that. I think I'm finally about to have a bit more free time, though. Also, with the warmer weather happening, I've started to find more energy and motivation.
I've slooooowly started making my way back to teh interwebs and Fandom Land.
I really wanted to write up posts aboutacatnamedeaster's visit, isisanubis's visit, and dinner/catching up with its_art, but alas, I failed on all three. In lieu of detailed reports (or even brief summaries...), I'll just say that all there were total win, and spending time with fen (especially its_art, whom I've known for years and hadn't seen since DiaCon Alley) reminded me of how much I adore fandom and all the crazy folks who comprise it.
In the last couple of weeks, I've gradually started to dip my toes back in. I've been online and on IM more and have been catching up a bit with at least a couple of friends. And... I read some fic last night and this afternoon! ::gasp, shock:: Which motivated me to make this post and say this:
Oh, sweet mother of god...! I'd nearly forgotten the sheer giddy JOY of stumbling across a random fic by a new-to-me author and realizing within the first hundred or two words that, YES, this person has got these characters DOWN! ...Then the fact that they somehow managed to hit a truly OBSCENE number of my bullet-proof kinks (character and theme as well as the sexy sort) is just the delicious icing on the wincake. ::flails like a wild, flailing thing::
So, yes, I'm making my way back.
...All of this makes it sound like I got burned out on fandom and jumped out intentionally. I DIDN'T. Not in the least. The necessities of life dragged me away kicking and screaming. I still love you all and adore this crazy space. I'm not leaving y'all, I promise! You're stuck with me, like it or not.

Er, aside from the spectacular amount of words written. No uni apparently = fic writing. Sadly no HP, it's all Avengers and Merlin and none published yet. In editing hell/still being written.

You have perfected the snarkiness and aloofness of Severus! I absolutely love your characterization of him- it's amazing! and your Remus is completely hot as well.
I am so glad you have time for fandom again - I am relatively new, and I cannot wait to read some more of your fic! I hope you have more Snupin planned!
