Forgive Me, Fandom, for I Have Sinned

So, I've just spent the last couple of days doing something that might be kind of weird and/or ridiculous, but that I felt like I needed to do in order to move forward in fandom again.

You see, I've been a bit of a terrible person in fandom these last few years. I kept trying to be involved and thinking I could do it but then falling short. As a result, there were a number of gift pieces created for me that I never managed to comment on properly. I know, I know; this condemns me to one of the deeper circles of Fandom Hell. Forgive me, Fandom, for I have sinned. A lot.

Anyway, I've gone back and left appropriately squeeful comments (and sincere apologies) on all of them. (Or all of them that I could remember/find, at any rate. If you know of one that I've missed, please let me know!) A couple of them date back FIVE and SIX YEARS. Holy crap. o_O

At this point, there's a high probability that the authors/artists don't have two flips to give about my comments. But the whole situation has been eating at me all this time. I had to do something about it if I'm going to keep showing my face around here.

I actually owe gift fics to a couple of people from way, way back too. I'd be very happy to finally deliver those (once I'm feeling confident in my writing again), but I'm not sure whether those people are still around at all. I might try to track them down in the near future...

Anyway, I just want to say this:

If you ever created anything for me for a fest or my birthday or just for the hell of it: I appreciate you.

If you ever did any kind of collab with me: I appreciate you.

If you ever recced one of my fics: I appreciate you.

If you ever commented on one of my fics unless it was to tell me that marble is an unsuitable material for a bowl: I appreciate you.

If you were ever one of the people who hung around, read, viewed, wrote, drew, commented, recced, participated, interacted, and just generally made fandom the amazing phenomenon that it is: I appreciate you.

I was just unable to properly tell everyone this for a (long) while.

If anyone knows of a fandom obligation that I've left unfulfilled and have forgotten, do point it out to me so I can make amends/self-flagellate more.
